Thank you for the beautiful artwork. For the longest time, I have been looking for a unique piece of art to hang in the foyer of my new Florida home. I wanted something beautiful but rare, something different that no one else had. I've had lots of suggestions from friends and family, but nothing pleased me until I found your artwork. I love it. Upon entering my house, everyone comments about how beautiful it is. Then I tell them it is made out of crushed glass and they are astounded. I am so happy now that I found this beautiful art. I smile whenever I walk past.
So cool, i just love to see what you will come up with next. You are an amazing artist, i marvel at how you see every day stuff and turn it into masterpieces.
Dear Janet,
Yesterday, Jennifer and I took your class. Needless to say, we both loved it! I was a therapist and people would say to me, you'll never know the impact you had on someone's life." Well, I needed to send this picture and tell you the impact you had on my daughter's life. She flew home last night. I just got the picture above. She has been pretty down for a while. I think she has found a new passion.
I wanted to tell you how grateful I am, not only for the talents you share, but for the grace that comes across in the way you share your talents. I hope to see you again in the fall. May God bless you.
Marilyn
I was looking for that perfect piece of art to hang on my entryway wall. I wanted it to be something that stood out and caught your eye as you entered my home. Not just any ordinary picture, but something that would generate conversation, something I enjoyed seeing every day. I could not find what I wanted in any of the typical home decorating stores. I was tired of looking at this big blank wall, but also determined to find that perfect piece. Then I met Janet. She makes these amazing broken glass art pictures. So unique and vibrant, I had never seen anything like them...exactly what I needed and wanted. The textures and color choices of her pieces make them look so physical. I knew this would positively fill the void and spark conversation. I had to have one! I have such pleasure when someone walks into my home and sees the art on the wall and immediately says “WOW! What an amazing piece, where did you get it?”
I’ve always been fascinated with 3D art in all forms. To be able to reuse unwanted materials and turn them into gorgeous works of art is a real pleasure to me. I’ve worked with glass for over 10 years. Over 3,000 students have received class instruction from me. I understand how it feels to want creative noticeable artwork. Reducing my carbon footprint has always been a personal goal. Blending the environment into my art is a core value. Each piece I create for my affiliate galleries is focused on nature.
With degrees in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and an MBA, I’m able to pull together many skills and experiences to be a successful internationally acclaimed glass artist in a medium that I really enjoy. Using scrap blown glass, cracked glass, fused glass and glass stringers to create premier glass artwork allows me to see “nature’s brilliance in 3D glass”.
Glass is my current medium. I’ve worked with mosaic, acrylic, fabric and now glass. I love the vibrant colors and random shapes of glass. This causes me to think outside the box to develop my next ‘broken glass with resin‘ creation. When I source my glass I look for texture, shape and color. Sources of glass include glass blowers, glass shards, tempered glass and stained glass. It thrills me to find unwanted glass that I can upcycle into coastal-themed glass art. I’m never sure how I will use the pieces I find, but I know that they are pleasing to look at and I keep a real stash of glass for all projects! This helps our ecology by recycling and repurposing glass into nature-themed art.
Running pliers, scorers, nippers, a kiln, resin, and epoxy are all essential tools I use to create glass art customized to my customer’s tastes. Interior designers, homeowners and gallery owners all revel in my stunning glass art.
Hiking, kayaking, gardening, and travel give me mental images of broken glass art that fuel my creative work. My friends and family give me a positive perspective on the artistic process. Working with glass is a passion, everything I create is a joy. I know I’ve finished a piece when I smile spontaneously. I definitely have a “resin obsession“ and that‘s what creates the glassiest sea life-themed glass art. My glass artwork can be found for sale in many art galleries and on my website as well. It makes wonderful unique art gifts. Commissions for glass art can be requested on the website as well as at art galleries.
